Old age is a time in which everyone requires care, love and support from our loved ones. In the past, India’s joint family culture cared and respected the elders in the house, ensuring they lived with dignity and love in the family. But with the rise of nuclear families, urban migration and increasing cost of living, elders are often left without their family support. This trend has resulted in an increasing number of old age homes around the country. Sadly, many of these homes lack even the most basic facilities, leaving the elders physically and emotionally weakened.
